Organic

Tea is one of the most widely-consumed beverages in the world (second only to water), and is considered one of the most cleanest and healthiest of beverages and there is a growing movement of consumers who demand pesticide and chemical free teas and herbs. We support this movement through our commitment to and encouragement of Green agricultural practices.

We are working with several organic plantations in Sri Lanka to improve not only the quality of tea but also the environment the tea is grown in, and by providing our customers with more organic and fair trade products, we hope to achieve this goal.

Fair Trade

Being one of the first fair trade agricultural products, tea is an ethical product by nature.
Fair trade is an organized social movement and market-based approach which advocates the payment of a fair price as well as social and environmental standards in areas related to the production of goods to alleviate global poverty and promote sustainability.

Sri Lanka has been recognized as a pioneer in the promotion of fair trade tea by the Fair Trade Labelling Organization (FLO), which defines the standards for fair trade certification. The high number of Fair Trade certified plantations in the country is verification to this.

Tea used to be grown in conditions that harm workers, communities and the environment, but increasingly consumers are demanding more humane, more environmentally sensitive products. Thus we have considered the Fair Trade Movement, a great source of inspiration to address customer concerns as well as support farmers and artisans who believe in sustainable farming practices. We also ensure that the farmers receive a fair price for their products while promoting social and environmental standards in the plantations.

With the introduction of fair trade mechanisms, we can ensure that the end consumer’s cup of tea is guilt free.

  • Ceylon Tea

For over a century Ceylon Tea has been the best tea throughout the world since its unique characteristics, flavors and aromas, dependent on a myriad of climatic conditions, plantation environments and elevation, and even processing procedures; tea grown in Sri Lanka has created for itself a reputation synonymous with quality.

  • Sri Lanka Tea

Tea Production in Srilanka, formerly Ceylon, is of high significance to the Sri Lankan economy and the world market. Sri lanka is the world's fourth largest exporter of tea and the industry is one of the country's main sources of foreign exchange and a significant source of income for the country.

  • Green Tea

Green Tea comes from same tea estates as usual but the difference is in the processing. Green Tea is dried but not fermented. Shorter processing makes Green Tea a lighter favor than black tea. It keeps all the important chemicals intact, which makes Green tea ideal for you.

  • Black Tea

Black tea is a kind of tea that is more oxidized than the other variety of teas. Black tea is generally stronger in flavor and contains more caffeine than the other tea brands. While green tea usually loses its flavor within a year, black tea retains its flavor for several years.

With a wide variety of elegant teas, Olinda is designed for a healthy, balanced modern lifestyle.
